ILUD offers English, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese (Mandarin) and Spanish courses addressed to children, teenagers and adults. Lessons are mainly taken in the classroom and some others are provided through virtual tutoring.
Regardless of the foreign language lessons students are taking, ILUD’s methodology is based on Cooperative and Meaningful learning approaches, integrating the communicative skills with an important self-learning component.
Welcome to ILUD
Established on April 27th, 2001, ILUD (Instituto de Lenguas de la Universidad Distrital) is the academic unit in charge of designing and implementing language programs, extended courses, advice and consultancy services within the framework of non-formal education for the University members and the community in general.
Foreign Language Lessons Offered at ILUD
Children
ILUD offers English and French courses for children between 7 and 10 years old. There are 12 different levels in total (English program), which include two levels of preparation for the KET international certificate. After completing all the modules, as children become teenagers, ILUD also offers language courses to continue with the foreign language learning process
Teenagers
English and French courses for teenagers are offered to students between 11 and 16 years old, and comprise 14 different levels (English program), which include 2 levels of preparation for the KET international certificate, and 2 levels of preparation for the PET international certificate. Ten different levels in total (DELF Junior), which include two levels of preparation for the DELF international certificate. After completing all the modules, as teenagers become adults, ILUD also offers language courses to continue with the foreign language learning process.
Adults
English, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese (Mandarin) and Spanish courses for adults are offered at ILUD. Courses are designed to meet a B2 level of proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
